Three free workshops will be offered this spring to help adults make informed decisions about job and career aspirations.
"The First Point of View: Your Thinking Style" will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to noon April 14. During this session, participants can take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to assess how they see the world and learn which vocations use talents similar to those that they possess.
"The Second Point of View: The Future In Your Past" will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to noon April 21. Participants will use the self-directed search to help them identify trends from the past that will mean productive work in the future.
And "The Third Point of View: The Pay and Projections" will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to noon April 28. This session will help participants understand things such as what specific jobs or careers pay, if it's something that can be done in Wisconsin and if employment in that field is stable or declining. Participants will learn to use the Wisconsin Career Information Service's SCAN to obtain employment statistics.
The programs will be presented by the Educational Opportunity Center, housed at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and the Chippewa Valley Technical College-Chippewa Falls campus.
For more information or to register for the workshops, call the Chippewa Valley Technical College-Chippewa Falls at (715) 723-0261 or the EOC at (715) 836-2024. -30- JB
