EAU CLAIRE —
The University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire forensics team has announced its results for tournament competition during the spring semester.
For the month of January, the team captured first-place trophies at several Minnesota tournaments including Concordia College, Moorhead University and St. Olaf. The team also placed first at the fourth Tri-Cities Forensics League tournament for the season.
In February, three first-year team members placed fifth at the St. Cloud tournament.
The team also traveled to Washington, D.C., to compete in the American University tournament where it placed second Feb. 20, as well as to Fairfax,Va., to the George Mason University tournament Feb. 21 to bring home a third-place finish.
The latest team results are for Feb. 28, when members won the Wisconsin State tournament and the spots to represent the state of Wisconsin in the National Interstate Oratory Contest.
The team will participate in national tournaments in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Yspilanti, Mich., in April.
