UW-Eau Claire Alumna|
To Head Alumni Office
MAILED: March 8, 1999|
A University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire alumna will return to campus this spring as the director of Alumni Relations.
Suzie Slota, a 1994 graduate of UW-Eau Claire and a 1998 master's graduate of UW-Madison, will assume her new responsibilities March 15.
"I am looking forward to bringing to this position my intense love of UW-Eau Claire, a passion for working with alumni and currently enrolled students and the opportunity to organize programs and events for those alumni and students," Slota said. "I believe in the importance of connections among people and I will work hard to foster such relationships."
Slota worked as the annual giving coordinator in UW-Eau Claire's University Advancement area in 1995-96. She also worked in various offices on campus when she was a student at UW-Eau Claire and held positions such as resident assistant in Oak Ridge Hall and freshman orientation assistant.
Also while a student at UW-Eau Claire, Slota was a member of the University Ambassadors and a student member of the Alumni Board of Directors, organizations she will help oversee in her new position. She also was the recipient of a UW-Eau Claire Student Leadership Award.
"We are thrilled that we were able to hire someone who has such a complete understanding of and love for UW-Eau Claire and its alumni," said Carole Halberg, acting director of University Advancement. "We believe her enthusiasm about all that this university has to offer will help her easily connect with other UW-Eau Claire alumni."
Slota most recently worked as an adviser, student supervisor and marketing assistant for the Wisconsin Union Travel Center at UW-Madison. She has held that position since January 1997. In June and July of 1998, Slota was an administrative assistant for the School of Education at King Alfred's College in Winchester, England.
