David Lund Named

EAU CLAIRE
David R. Lund will serve as interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, effective with the retirement of Dean Carl Haywood in late July.
Chancellor Donald Mash appointed Lund, who has been associate dean of Arts and Sciences since 1997, to the interim post, following a recommendation from Provost/Vice Chancellor Thomas Miller. As interim dean Lund will have administrative responsibility for the university's largest academic unit, which includes nearly 350 faculty and teaching academic staff and more than 4,000 undergraduate majors.
Lund joined the mathematics faculty in 1966. He was promoted to associate professor in 1973 and to professor in 1979. He was chair of the mathematics department from 1990-95 and served as acting associate dean of Arts and Sciences during 1995-96.
He holds a bachelor's degree from Carroll College and master's and doctoral degrees from UW-Madison. -30- JW
