Food safety seminar
scheduled for April 7

EAU CLAIRE
A seminar focusing on food safety at retail outlets is slated for Wednesday, April 7, at the Holiday Inn-Campus Area.
The conference, "Retail Food Safety," will cover the microbiology of food safety, the challenges of the new statewide food code and the purpose of risk based food safety inspections. The seminar is designed for sanitarians, food handlers and other public health personnel interested in the prevention of food borne illnesses.
Presenters include George Nelson, University of Wisconsin-Stout emeritus professor; Wayne Kopp, a technical specialist and food scientist from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection; and Dave Steinhardt, from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, Division of Food Safety.
Participants will receive .6 Continuing Education Units for six hours of instruction for each workshop from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Human Sciences and Services Outreach in cooperation with UW-Extension.
