EAU CLAIRE — People interested in learning more about culture, religion, beliefs and practices from the Hmong perspective will receive such an opportunity during the "Hmong Religion and Cultural Values" workshop April 23 in Green Bay.
Workshop topics include the Hmong New Year, Shamanism, leadership, courtship and dating, and child rearing. Houa Vue Moua, co-author of "Trail Through the Mists" and recipient of the 1990 Thousand Points of Light Award for her community service work, is among the workshop's presenters.
The workshop, sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire College of Arts and Sciences Continuing Education and UW-Extension, will be held in the Holiday Inn (Green Bay Airport) from 8:30 a.m.-4:15 p.m. The registration fee is $105 and includes instruction, materials, refreshments and lunch. The registration deadline is April 16.
