EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Feb. 22. All events are free and open to the public.
TUESDAY, FEB 23:
- Samantha Pittenger, White Bear Lake, Minn., will perform her junior recital on clarinet at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Pittenger will perform works by Igor Stravinsky, George Gershwin, Gioacchino Rossini, Artie Shaw and C.M. Von Weber. Sophomore Anne Travia, South Milwaukee, will accompany her on piano.
- WEDNESDAY, FEB 24:
- Matthew Pivec, Minnetonka, Minn., will perform his senior recital on saxophone at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Senior Kevin Bartig, Wausau, and Michael Cunningham, professor of music will accompany Pivec. He will open the performance with Alexander Glazounov's "Concerto in E flat," and will finish with "Sonata Op. 57," by Michael Cunningham.
- SUNDAY, FEB 28:
- Timothy Lane will perform a faculty recital on flute at 4 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Nancy Rice Baker will accompany Lane on piano. He will perform sonatas from Mozart, Brahms and Charles Ives.
