Offers Trip to St. Paul Concert

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Friends of Music organization will offer a trip to a coffee concert in February in St. Paul.
The group will offer a trip to "The Minnesota Orchestra Presents Brahms/Schoenberg & Tchaikovsky Coffee Concert" Feb. 25 at the Ordway Music Theatre in St. Paul. Eiji Oue will conduct.
Participants will arrive at the Ordway Music Theatre at 9:50 a.m. for coffee, donuts and a style show. The concert will begin at 11 a.m.
The cost is $58 per person. The cost includes coffee, donuts and the style show; reserved orchestra seats for the concert; a Holiday Vacations tour manager and driver; and deluxe motorcoach transportation. Reservations must be made by Jan. 25.
Eiji Oue was appointed The Minnesota Orchestra's ninth music director in 1995. Under Oue's baton, The Minnesota Orchestra has recorded and released six CDs on the Reference Recording label. The Minnesota Orchestra has toured in the United States as well as Europe.
The critically acclaimed German violinist Christian Tetzlaff will return for Tchaikovsky's "Violin Concerto."
Johannes Brahms (1883-1897) was one of Germany's foremost composers of romantic symphonies, concertos and chamber music. He also composed many pieces for solo piano or piano duet. Peter Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) was the first Russian composer to gain international fame.
