Forensics Team Wins

EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team participated in the UW-Stout Tournament Dec. 4-5 in Menomonie.
UW-Eau Claire placed first in team sweepstakes with 342 points, followed by Eastern Illinois University with 190 points.
Senior Kate Grosskopf, Fall Creek, placed first in communication analysis, third in poetry interpretation and prose interpretation, and fifth in program oral interpretation. Senior Melanie Miller, Anoka, placed first in after-dinner speaking, second in persuasive speaking and poetry interpretation, and fourth in prose interpretation.
Sophomore Arwen Dale, Eau Claire, placed first in informative speaking, third in communication analysis and sixth in impromptu speaking. Barbara Ellevold, a sophomore from Pulaski, placed first in pentathalon, second in dramatic interpretation, third in informative speaking and fourth in program oral interpretation.
Sophomore Arwen Williams, Eau Claire, took fourth in persuasive speaking and fifth in music interpretation. Sophomore Cate Dunham, Hartland, placed fourth in communication analysis and informative speaking. Sophomore Reid Sollberger, Spooner, placed fourth in poetry interpretation, and freshman Abe Barnes, Wisconsin Rapids, placed fifth in impromptu speaking. Sollberger also placed seventh in duo interpretation with sophomore Jodi Becker, Germantown. Taking sixth place in extemporaneous speaking was senior Leah Hooker, Coon Rapids, Minn. -30- JM/JB
