'Hands Mind Soul'|
MAILED: Dec. 1, 1998|
Four University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire fine arts degree graduation candidates will exhibit their works in a show titled "Hands Mind Soul." This will be the third of four BFA exhibits, which showcase the works of graduating seniors.
"Hands Mind Soul," an exhibit consisting of illustrations, prints and ceramics, will be featured Dec. 17-20 at The State: Regional Arts Center in downtown Eau Claire. It is the combined effort of Lynn Gerhard, Chippewa Falls; Brenda Lichman, Brookfield; Michelle Karstensen, Eau Claire; and Patricia Stary, Chippewa Falls.
"I have been largely influenced by the Feminist movement of the 1970s, including artists Kiki Smith and Ida Applebroog," Gerhard said. "(My work) is based around the theme of the identity of women in today's world.
An opening reception for the exhibit will run from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Regional Arts Center.
Hours for the exhibit are 3-9 p.m. Thursday, 6-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday.
