The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Women's Chorus will follow G.F. Handel's advice to "Lift Up Your Voices" at its fall concert. The concert is slated for 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
After the opening Handel piece, Robert Mondlock will direct the chorus in performing Mozart's "Ave Verum Corpus," the Scottish folk song "Flow Gently, Sweet Afton," and "Die Meere" by Johannes Brahms.
Gary Schwartzhoff, associate professor of music, will step in to conduct "Singers All" by Barbara Sletto.
Mondlock will return to join the chorus in John Rutter's "Angel's Carol" and "Niska Banja" a traditional Serbian gypsy dance featuring nine student Banja singers. The concert will conclude with "I Got Shoes," a traditional spiritual song, and "Blessing," a traditional Irish poem.
Tickets, available at the University Service Center of Davies Center, (715) 836-3727, are $3.75 for adults, $2.75 for seniors, children under 18 or faculty/staff with a university ID, or free for students with a university ID.
