EAU CLAIRE
The geology department at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire hosted the 61st annual Tri-State Geological Field on Sept. 25-27.
More than 130 professional geologists and geology majors from Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota attended the conference, which is annually held in the Midwest. Co-organizers were assistant professor Karen Havholm and associate professor Kent Syverson.
Field trips were held on Sept. 26 and 27.
Students from Augusta College, Illinois State University, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Oshkosh and UW-Eau Claire presented posters at an undergraduate research poster session on Sept. 25. Heather Golding, a senior biology major from Appleton, contributed to an article in the guidebook published for the trip.
Several UW-Eau Claire alumni and geology majors contributed articles to the guidebook including Mae E. Willkom, Mark Kiessling, Steven Jenson and Jeffrey Paddock.
