Places First at MAFL

EAU CLAIRE
The Mid-American Forensics League held its second MAFL tournament the weekend of Oct. 30-31 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
UW-Eau Claire placed first at the tournament, followed by Illinois State University placing second and Cornell College placing third.
At the tournament, sophomore Reid Sollberger, Spooner, placed first in after-dinner speaking and in duo interpretation with freshman Eric Rasmussen, Eau Claire. Rasmussen placed second in informative speaking, third in prose interpretation and sixth in dramatic interpretation. Freshman Aaron Unseth, Plato, Minn., also placed first in poetry interpretation.
Placing second in rhetorical criticism was Jodi Becker, a sophomore from Germantown. Becker also placed fourth in poetry interpretation and fifth in impromptu speaking. Also placing second in poetry interpretation was sophomore Barb Ellevold, Pulaski, who took fourth place in prose interpretation and dramatic interpretation.
Sophomore Arwen Dale, Eau Claire, placed third in informative speaking and fourth in persuasive speaking. Freshman Kate Weisenbeck, Durand, placed third in poetry interpretation and sixth in prose interpretation. Senior Leah Hooker, Coon Rapids, Minn., placed fourth in informative speaking and rhetorical criticism.
