EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team earned second place in a tournament at UW-River Falls during the weekend of Oct. 24-25.
At the tournament, sophomore Cate Dunham, Hartland, placed first in extemporaneous speaking, and second in impromptu speaking. Sophomore Arwen Dale, Eau Claire, placed sixth in informative speaking and second in persuasive speaking.
Sophomore Arwen Williams, Eau Claire, placed third in informative speaking and first in dramatic interpretation. Sophomore Reid Sollberger, Spooner, placed fifth in prose interpretation and fourth in poetry interpretation.
Senior Kate Grosskopf, Fall Creek, placed first in after-dinner speaking, third in communication analysis and third in poetry interpretation. Sophomore Jodi Becker, Germantown, placed second in communication analysis.
Northern Illinois University took first place in the tournament and Mankato State placed third.
The UW-Eau Claire forensics team will host a tournament Oct. 31-Nov. 1, which will be sponsored by the Mid American Forensics League.
