MAILED: Oct. 19, 1998
EAU CLAIRE
The annual Blanket the Valley project will collect blankets for the homeless between noon Friday, Nov. 6, and noon Saturday, Nov. 7, on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Central Campus Mall.
University and community members are asked to drop off new or like-new blankets at a tent that will be set up on the mall. Blankets also can be placed in drop boxes at several Eau Claire area grocery stores and churches from Nov. 1-15.
The philanthropic event has two objectives: one is to collect new blankets for the homeless in the Eau Claire area; the other is to make the community aware of the homeless population in the area.
The drive is in its third year and is sponsored by the social fraternity Phi Sigma Phi -30- ML/AH
