EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Oct. 26. All events are free and open to the public.
    THURSDAY, OCT. 29:
  • Tim Lane will perform a faculty flute recital at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Lane will be accompanied by Barbara Young on piano. He will begin the evening with a piece by Carl Philipp Emmanuel Bach, followed by Mozart's "Sonata in E Minor" and "Andante Sostenuto" by Gaetano Donezetti. Following intermission, Lane will finish with pieces by Schubert and Taffanel.

    • SUNDAY, NOV. 1:
  • Karen Brookens, soprano, will present a faculty recital at 2 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Brookens will be accompanied by Barbara Wimunc-Pearson on piano and assisted by Tim Lane on flute. Brookens will sing selections by Handel, Strauss and Roussel during the first half of the program and will finish with pieces by Duparc and Britten.
