EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Oct. 19. All events are free and open to the public.
MONDAY, OCT. 19:
- OcTUBAfest continues today at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Two featured artists will perform, Mark Moore on tuba and pianist Eric Dalheim, professors at the University of Illinois. Moore and Dalheim will play a five-piece set including the "Tuba Concerto" by renowned film composer and conductor John Williams.
THURSDAY, OCT. 22:
- Brenda Greenwald of Sheboygan and Kevin Bartig of Wausau will both perform on piano in a joint junior recital. Greenwald will begin the evening with selections from Beethoven and Debussy. Bartig will follow with a piece from Brahms and one from Ginastera. The recital is at 5 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
SUNDAY, OCT. 25:
- The String Orchestra will perform its first concert of the semester under the direction of Paul Kosower at 5 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The program includes Dvorak's "Serenade for Strings in E Major," Grieg's "Holberg Suite for String Orchestra," and pieces by Peter Warlock and William Walton.
