EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Oct. 12. All events are free and open to the public.
SATURDAY, OCT. 17:
Honor Choir will perform at 1:15 and 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
SUNDAY, OCT. 18:
Two music and theatre department faculty will collaborate for a joint faculty recital. Ivar Lunde will perform on oboe and Nanette Lunde will perform on harpsichord at 4 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
OcTUBAfest is back for its three-day annual visit. The first concert is slated for 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. This will mark the 15th year that OcTUBAfest has been in Eau Claire and "brought the tuba in front of the public in a positive light," Jerry Young, professor of music said. This first performance of the event that originated in Bloomington, Ind., consists of student solo and ensemble performances. "Our musical potential is the same as any other musician. It's only a different medium to express musical thought," Young said. -30- JV/JB
