University of Wisconsin System President Katharine Lyall will install Donald Mash as the chancellor of UW-Eau Claire Saturday, Oct. 24. The ceremony starts at 4:30 p.m. in Zorn Arena with a reception to follow in the Spruce-Tamarack Room of Davies Center.
The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. Tickets will be available after Sept. 1 from the University Service Center in Davies Center, (715) 836-3727.
The ceremony will feature an inaugural address by Mash, who is UW-Eau Claire's sixth chief executive, and remarks from other campus and community representatives. Lyall will present the university medallion. The University Symphony Orchestra and the Singing Statesmen will provide music.
Five chief executives have served UW-Eau Claire since it was founded in 1916: Harvey Schofield, 1916-40; W.R. Davies, 1941-59; Leonard Haas, 1959-80; Emily Hannah, 1981-84; and Larry Schnack, 1985-97.
