Student Senate to Sponsor
Answer Tent on Campus Mall
MAILED: Aug. 31, 1998|
EAU CLAIRE New students tend to have questions during their first days on a college campus and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is no different.
To make it easier for students to get answers to their questions, the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate will sponsor an "Answer Tent" on the Central Campus Mall Thursday and Friday, Sept. 3 and 4. The tent will be staffed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. by representatives of the Office of Public Safety, the Dean of Students Office, Counseling Services, Advising and Academic Testing, and Activities, Programs and Recreation.
"The idea is to provide a place where students can get one-stop answers, no matter what the question," said Mark Cook, Student Senate president. "If students or staff members can't answer a particular question, cellular phones will be used to reach someone who can answer the question."
Even though the effort is geared toward new freshmen, anyone is welcome to stop by the tent, said Paula Stuettgen, student activities coordinator.
Area radio stations will coordinate drawings and prizes each day.
In case of rain, the tent will move to the Locust Lounge near the Information Center in Davies Center.
