EAU CLAIRE -- Jeanne Sinz will assume the position of director of Career Services at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire July 1.
As director, Sinz will lead the development and implementation of Career Services' mission, vision, goals and objectives; supervise the program, personnel and budget functions, establish campus-wide collaborative relationships with all departments and other offices; and counsel and educate students regarding career development issues and services.
Sinz, who received her bachelor's degree from UW-Eau Claire and master's degree from UW-Stout, has been the director of Career Services at the University of Montana in Missoula, Mont., since 1994.
She also has been the area coordinator for residence life at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wash., and was the assistant director of Career Services at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, Alaska, from 1981-90.
"Jeanne Sinz brings a proven record of professional, creative and energetic leadership," said Ann Lapp, dean of students. "Her strong commitment to liberal arts education balanced with experience in Career Services programming for professional schools is a good match for our director of Career Services position."
