EAU CLAIRE -- The Wind Ensemble will present a concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 3, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Dr. Todd Fiegel, director of university bands and assistant professor of music at UW-Eau Claire, will conduct the program. The ensemble will perform "Fanfare on Motifs" from "Die Gurrelieder," by Arnold Schoenberg, "Five movements from Carmina Burana" for chamber winds by Carl Orff and "Surprise, Pattern, Illusion" by Daniel Bukvich. Soloist on "Surprise, Pattern, Illusion" will be associate professor Dr. Timothy Lane, flute.
After a short intermission, the ensemble will present "Boys of the Old Brigade" by W. Paris Chambers, "O, Man Now weep for thy great Sin" by J.S. Bach and "Valse" by Ernst Toch.
Closing the program will be "Dance Movements" by Philip Sparke.
Tickets for the concert are $4.75 for the general public; $3.75 for senior citizens, youths and faculty and staff; or $1.25 with a UW-Eau Claire student ID. Tickets are available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727.
