Alumni Weekend Activities

EAU CLAIRE -- The classes of 1917 to 1948 will be honored during the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's annual Alumni Weekend May 15-16.
The weekend is designed for all alumni, emeriti, current faculty, friends and guests of UW-Eau Claire. Events are planned throughout the two days.
A Golden Blugold Reception will be held from 6-7:15 p.m. Friday in the Presidents Room of Davies Center. At 7:30 p.m., alumni are invited to see the UW-Eau Claire production of "The Glass Menagerie" in Kjer Theatre. Tickets are $5.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Skylight Lounge of Davies Center. At 10 a.m., alumni can participate in one of three activities: "A View from Eau Claire: The Night Sky as Seen by Area Astronomers," "A Sampling of Special Collections" or "A Walking Tour of Campus."
"A View From Eau Claire: The Night Sky as Seen by Area Astronomers" will be held in the L.E. Phillips Planetarium in the Phillips Science Hall. UW-Eau Claire students Anna Kindt and Jaimme York will reveal the views from Eau Claire.
"A Sampling of Special Collections" by Rita Sorkness will provide an overview of UW-Eau Claire's Research Center for Genealogical Resources and Archives. Participants should meet in the Skylight Lounge of Davies Center.
And "A Walking Tour of Campus" will provide alumni with a guided tour of the campus and Schofield Hall, led by a Student Ambassador. The tours will begin in the Skylight Lounge in Davies Center.
There will be a Golden Blugold Pinning Ceremony for members of the Class of 1948 at 11 a.m. in Davies Theatre to celebrate their 50-year class reunion. Interim Chancellor Marjorie Smelstor will recognize the class.
Following the pinning ceremony, a Chancellor's Luncheon will be offered for Golden Blugolds and emeriti in the Tamarack Room of Davies Center. Guests are welcome for $8. The luncheon entertainment will be the Singing Statesmen, conducted by Gary Schwartzhoff.
