Environmental Group to Host
UW-Eau Claire Earth Fest

EAU CLAIRE -- The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Residence Hall Environmental Group will host Earth Fest '98 on campus April 19-25.
Held in conjunction with Earth Week, a nationally recognized environmental event, the second annual Earth Fest at UW-Eau Claire will feature a Chippewa River bank clean up day, outdoor musical festivals and several other activities.
On Sunday, April 19, from 2 to 5 p.m., the upper campus ice rink will come alive with musical performances by Stronger Than Me, the Stairwells and the African Music Society. Also, the High and Mighty Jugglers will teach participants how to juggle and food will be available for purchase.
On Wednesday, April 22, at noon, the African Music Society will perform on the campus mall. Environmental exhibits will also be on display. At 4 p.m., Outdoor Recreation will sponsor a Chippewa River bank clean up for students and community members. Participants should meet behind Hilltop Center.
Environmental organizations will be on the campus mall to recruit volunteers interested in helping the environment during the summer on Thursday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A nature hike along the Chippewa River and Putnam Trail will be held for on campus students and their siblings at 1 p.m. April 25.
