EAU CLAIRE -- Dogs will be tested for certification as therapy dogs and canine good citizens Saturday, May 2, at Anne Braue's Canine Training Center at Banbury Place in Eau Claire.
Appointments are necessary. To schedule an appointment, call Susan Michaud, of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's social work department, at (715) 836-5366 or (715) 926-5805.
The cost for both tests is $10.
Certification is needed for a dog to be part of the Therapy Dog Program. Dogs must pass a basic obedience test to become certified. Certified therapy dogs and their owners then visit nursing homes in the Chippewa Valley.
