MAILED: April 7, 1998|
EAU CLAIRE --University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire employees can participate in the annual national event, "Take Our Daughters to Work Day," April 23.
The UW-Eau Claire chapter of Women in Higher Education will sponsor the activities surrounding the event, which is held to recognize and focus on the aspirations of young girls ages 9 to 15.
Activities of the day include a welcoming reception for girls and parents/hosts at 7:45 a.m., campus tours at 9 a.m., office, classroom and lab visits at 10 a.m., and a Brown Bag panel discussion on leadership qualities at noon in the Presidents Room of Davies Center.
Seniors Kristin Kleinsteiber, Stacy Bower, Amanda Ashcraft, and junior Christina Pierce will lead the Brown Bag discussion, which will focus on leadership roles of women students at UW-Eau Claire.
The campus community is welcome to participate in these activities. Employees are encouraged to check with their supervisors if they plan to bring or host a daughter during the day.
Parents should make arrangements ahead of time if their daughters wish to shadow another staff or faculty member. A list of faculty and staff interested in hosting girls will be compiled and available April 15.
