EAU CLAIRE -- The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, April 13. All events are free and open to the public.

A student ECNAMTS Recital will be held at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Center.

Karen Melby, a junior from Richland Center, will present a clarinet student recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Center. She will perform "Six Studies in English Folk Song," "Concerto for Clarinet," "Sonata in Eb Major, Op. 120, No. 2" and "Clarinet Duet, No. 1 in F Major." Matthew Bear will assist on piano and Rebecca Campbell will assist on clarinet.

The University String Orchestra will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Center. The orchestra, conducted by Professor Paul Kosower, will present "Two Aquareles" by Frederick Delius, "Sinfonia No. 8 in D Major for String Orchestra" by Felix Mendelssohn and "Introduction and Allegro for Strings" by Edward Elgar. Soloists are Ryan Poquette, Soma Pierce, Robyn Smail and Matt Pierce.
