Career Workshops Aimed at Resume
Building and Job Searching Skills

EAU CLAIRE -- "Career Focus @ 4:00," a series of four workshops recommended for University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire juniors and seniors, will give students a chance to learn how to build their employment preparation and job searching skills. All the workshops begin at 4 p.m.
The first session, "Job Searching Strategies: It Starts with a Plan," will take place on Monday, Feb. 9, in the Ojibwa Room of Davies Center. Students can learn how to plan their job search using tricks of the trade. No registration is required.
The second session, "Writing a Resume: Your First Tool," will be held Tuesday, Feb. 10, in the Winnebago Room of Davies Center and Tuesday, Feb. 17, in room 111 of Schneider Social Sciences. No registration is needed for the Feb. 9 workshop but registration is required for the Feb. 17 session. To register, call (715) 836-3061 or stop by Old Library 1108.
Resume basics as well as targeting a resume for a specific job will be covered during the sessions. Students will deal with resume content during the first session and during the second workshop they can create or work on a resume of their own.
"Interviewing: What Comes After the Handshake?" will take place Wednesday, Feb. 11, in the Presidents Room of Davies Center. Interview preparation will be the focus of the third session. No registration is required.
The final workshop, "Using the Net: The Newest Job Search Strategy," will be offered Thursday, Feb. 12, in room 210 of Schneider Social Sciences. This workshop will show students how to use the Internet to write a resume, research employers, network and access vacancy bulletins. No registration is required.
All sessions are free and are sponsored by Career Services.
