MAILED: Feb. 27, 1998
EAU CLAIRE -- The 1998 Senior Americans' Day celebration, held on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus March 17, will offer a rejuvenating experience for all who attend.
Recognized across Western Wisconsin, Senior Americans' Day provides the elderly with information on healthy and rewarding lifestyles, and is designed to dispel the myths of aging, reinforce the positive aspects of aging and provide an opportunity for socialization and networking for older adults.
The all day event starts with registration at 7:30 a.m. in the West Lobby of Davies Center and runs through 3:35 p.m. Activities include learning about woodcarving, Wisconsin history and lore, dancing, gardening, nutrition, photography and much more.
Offered through a partnership between UW-Eau Claire and UW-Extension, the event is sponsored by Grace Lutheran Foundation Inc., the Eau Claire County Department on Aging and Mental Health Association in Eau Claire County Inc.
Pre-registration for Senior Americans' Day is encouraged, but tickets may be purchased at the door. Tickets cost $20.
