Indianhead Honors Band Concert

EAU CLAIRE -- The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present an Indianhead Honors Band Concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Memorial High School in Eau Claire.
Dr. Todd Fiegel, director of university bands, said the Indianhead Honors Band is composed of 81 students from 25 high schools in the western Wisconsin region. Students selected for participation are chosen by audition.
Wind and percussion faculty from the music and theatre arts department will work with the students during the day, and the concert will be given in the evening.
The performance will be preceded by brief presentations by the UW-Eau Claire Wind Ensemble, also conducted by Fiegel, and the Symphony Band, conducted by Rodney Hudson.
After a short intermission, Fiegel will conduct the 1998 Indianhead Honors Band. They will perform "An Original Suite" by Gordon Jacob, "On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss" by David Holsinger, "Sun Dance" by Frank Ticheli, and "Manhattan Beach" by John Philip Sousa.
Tickets are $5 for the entire day's activities or $4 for the concert. They may be purchased at the door.
