Viennese Ball Dance Workshops

EAU CLAIRE - A Viennese Ball Dance Workshop at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will help patrons brush up on or develop their ballroom dancing skills before the 24th Annual Viennese Ball, scheduled for April 17-18 on campus.
Dr. Ida Hinz, former chair of the UW-Eau Claire department of kinesiology, and regional dance instructors David and Karen Goggin will conduct the seven-session workshop.
Beginner-level sessions will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and intermediate-level sessions will meet from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Classes will be held on these dates in the Tamarack Room of Davies Center, unless noted:
* Tuesday, March 24
* Thursday, March 26
* Tuesday, March 31
* Thursday, April 2
* Tuesday, April 7
* Tuesday, April 14 (Zorn Arena)
* Thursday, April 16 (Zorn Arena)
Instruction will focus on the waltz (slow, medium and fast), fox trot, swing and polka. Up to 60 people may register, alone or with partners, at any skill level.
Registration is $14 per person ($8 for UW System and Chippewa Valley Technical College students) at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727.
The workshop is sponsored by the Viennese Ball Committee.
