MAILED: February 9, 1998
EAU CLAIRE - Portfolios, once used exclusively by art and teaching professionals, have gained in popularity in other fields as well. Today, creation of a professional portfolio may give job seekers an edge over competitors.
A workshop, "Developing a Portfolio," to be held at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, will help students put together an outstanding portfolio.
Sponsored by the Academic Advising and Career Services office on campus, the workshop will run from 4-5 p.m. Feb. 19 in the Menomonee Room of Davies Center, and from 6-7 p.m. April 1 in the Oneida Room of Davies Center.
Students will be introduced to the basics of creating professional portfolios and will be given strategies for developing their own portfolios, a tool used to present and demonstrate a person's skills and educational needs for a specific career path.
No registration or fee is required. For more information, contact the Academic Advising and Career Services office at (715) 836-5359.
