Viennese Ball Tickets

EAU CLAIRE -- Tickets will go on sale Jan. 26 for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's 24th annual Viennese Ball.
More than 2,000 patrons are expected to attend the ball April 17 and 18 for an evening of dining, dancing and music in Davies Center. In 1988, the Viennese Ball was documented by the Vienna Tourist Board as the largest in the world outside Austria.
Featured university ensembles and soloists will include the Brass Choir, the Faculty Dixieland Band, Gone Public, The Innocent Men, Jazz Ensemble I, The Singing Statesmen, the University Symphony Orchestra, and the Women's Concert Chorale.
During its 23-year run, the Viennese Ball has provided more than $354,000 for music scholarships and international study awards, and more than $150,000 has been directed to student musicians and student production staff who lend their talents to present the ball, coordinate Ada Bors said. To date, $504,000 in support of students has been provided, she said.
Viennese Ball ticket applications are available at the University Service Center and at other locations in Davies Center. Tickets for the ball are $25 for the public and UW System faculty and staff, or $19 for UW System and Chippewa Valley Technical College students. For the ball with a midnight breakfast, the cost is $30.25 for the public and UW System faculty and staff, or $24.25 for UW System and CVTC students. A $2 processing fee will be added to all orders.
Orders received via the U.S. mail and campus mail will be filled in the order they are received beginning Jan. 26.
Beginning Jan. 26, tickets can be purchased at the University Service Center between 8:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. weekdays, between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. Saturdays, and between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. Sundays. The Service Center will have limited hours of operation during Spring Break, March 16-20.
Also beginning Jan. 26, tickets may be ordered by telephone by calling (715) 836-3727 or (800) 949-8932. Telephone orders must be accompanied by payment of either MasterCard or Visa. A $3 handling fee will be added for telephone orders.
Those holding student price tickets must present a valid UW System or Chippewa Valley Technical College student card upon entering the ball. Student ticket holders are allowed to bring one guest at the student price.
Ticket requests will be filled in the order they are received. Tickets are limited to 1,000 per night.
