'Death, What a Joke!' Lecture Slated

EAU CLAIRE -- A lecture titled "Death, What a Joke!" is slated for Jan. 28 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
The session, to be led by English professor August Rubrecht, will run from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Alumni Room of Davies Center.
Rubrecht will discuss how jokes about death focus attention to achieve their effect, how jokes indicate subjects that are important to people, and how death jokes fit into society's system of beliefs.
Therapists, health care providers, geriatric professionals, educators, and hospital and nursing home personnel are encouraged to attend.
