Art Classes Offered
by UW-Eau Claire
MAILED: Jan. 5, 1998|
EAU CLAIRE -- Art classes in painting and drawing will be offered to children in grades one through five by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Arts and Sciences Continuing Education Office.
Classes will run from 3:30 to 5 p.m. every Monday or from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday at Immaculate Conception School, 1703 Sherwin Ave., starting the week of Feb. 2.
The eight-week session offers opportunities for children to learn about, explore and create art. Each class includes an introduction to new ideas, demonstration of new techniques and work time so students can develop their own art work.
The Monday sessions are for children in grades one to three and focus on painting. Students learn how to use painted papers, collage, crayon resist, watercolors and tempera paints. They will study O'Keefe and Picasso.
The Tuesday sessions are for children in grades four and five. In these classes, students will use perspective to create the illusion of space and distance in drawing. Combing perspective with fantasy images will be explored.
Classes cost $40 to $50. The fee includes the cost of tuition and art supplies. Registration is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
For a brochure or more information, call the Arts and Sciences Continuing Education Office at (715) 836-2031.
