Tickets on Sale for
Collin Raye Show
MAILED: Jan. 28, 1998|
EAU CLAIRE -- Tickets go on sale at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, for a concert by Epic recording artist Collin Raye on Thursday, March 5, at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
A three-time Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music nominee who has attained platinum status with his first three albums, Raye will begin his show at 7:30 p.m. in Zorn Arena.
Collin Raye's latest release, "The Best of Collin Ray -- Direct Hits," is currently in the top 20 on Billboard magazine's Top Country Albums chart. The first single, "What the Heart Wants," reached number two this fall on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart; "Little Red Rodeo," the follow-up single, is climbing into Radio & Records Country Top 50. Raye finished 1997 with top 20 positions on multiple Billboard year-end charts, including those for Top Country Album and Top Country Artist, and he was featured in a Nashville Network TV special.
Raye's interpretive skills have resonated with country audiences since "Love Me," from his critically acclaimed "All I Can Be" debut, spent three weeks at number one. "In This Life" became the wedding song of 1993; and "Little Rock," a tale about putting one's life back together in the wake of an alcohol problem, prompted 80,000 people to seek help from Al-Anon and Ala-teen.
Reserved seating tickets are $19.50, plus a $1 service fee, at the University Service Center in Davies Center. Tickets may be charged to MasterCard or Visa when ordered by phone. Call (715) 836-3727 -- or, outside the immediate Eau Claire area, call toll-free (800) 949-UWEC. A $3 handling fee will be added to all telephone charge orders.
A special advance sale for UW-Eau Claire students only will begin Saturday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. at the University Service Center. Tickets will be sold only at the Service Center windows. Purchasers are limited to eight tickets per person, and must present a valid UW-Eau Claire student ID card.
The concert is sponsored by Event Resources Presents Inc., and the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate.
