Vocal Jazz Ensemble to
Perform Holiday Songs

EAU CLAIRE -- The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Vocal Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Dan Newman, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Center.
The group will perform "This Song is You" by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein and arranged by Allen Carter. "My Heart Stood Still" by Richard Rogers, arranged by Sharon Broadly and adapted by Dan Newman, also is part of the program.
Other works include "Once in Love," arranged by Dan Newman; "Rockin' Ch7air" y Hoagy Carmichael, arranged by Gene Puerling and adapted by Dan Newman; "The Night Chicago Died" by Mitch Murray, arranged by Dan Newman; and "I Wish," by Stevie Wonder, arranged by Rolf Bruhn.
Songs in the spirit of the holidays include "I Pray On Christmas," arranged by Tina Vallier; "Some Children See Him" by Alfred Burt, arranged by Randy Crenshaw and Billy Lyons Jr.; and "A Take Six Christmas," arranged by Steve Zegree with additional arrangement by Dan Newman.
Vocal Jazz members include Nicole Harper, Chippewa Falls, soprano; Rachael Brost, McFarland, alto; Rolf Bruhn, Waukesha, tenor; Kris Larson, Oshkosh, baritone; and Trent Brown, Plymouth, bass.
Ticket prices are $4.75 for the public; $3.75 for ages 17 and under, 62 and over and faculty and staff; or $1.25 for students with a UW-Eau Claire Blugold card. Tickets are available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727.
