EAU CLAIRE -- The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will be a host site for a teleconference regarding financial aid issues Monday, Nov. 10.
The teleconference, hosted at UW-Eau Claire at the request of U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, will run from 7 to 7:45 p.m. It will be broadcast in the Ojibwa Room of Davies Center at UW-Eau Claire.
The 45-minute U.S. Department of Education satellite broadcast will take place nationwide. The program, titled "Financial Aid Night," will be a live, interactive teleconference intended to provide basic information about student aid resources.
The target audience includes current and prospective students, their parents, high school counselors and campus admissions/financial aid staffs. There will be an opportunity for participants to telephone questions in to the program. A representative of Kind's office will attend the session.
Organizers of the teleconference hope to help students and their parents better understand the financial aid implications of a recently passed tax bill.
