EAU CLAIRE -- The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Women's Chorus, conducted by Kristin Warner, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Center.
This is Warner's first year leading the 75-member Women's Chorus. She also is the vocal music director at Colfax High School and sings with The Master Singers, conducted by Gary Schwartzhoff.
"This is a really good group of students and I think the concert will be great," she said.
The concert will feature a mixture of folk songs including the American folk song "Johnny Has Gone For A Soldier," arranged by William R. Fischer.
Another piece the group will perform is an Irish anonymous love song called "I Will Walk With My Love," arranged by James Mulholland.
The famous American Spiritual, "Ezekiel Saw The Wheel," arranged by H.T. Burleigh, has roots dating back to the time of slavery and will be brought back by the chorus.
Tickets are $3.75 for the public, $2.75 for ages 17 and under, and 62 and over, or free for with a UW-Eau Claire ID.
Tickets are available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727, and at the door.
