EAU CLAIRE -- The first meeting of the Search and Screen Committee to assist in identifying a new chancellor for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will be Monday, Nov. 17, in the President's Room of Davies Center. UW System President Katharine Lyall and the chair of the Special Regents Committee, Patrick Boyle, will meet with the committee to formally charge the committee and to review procedures.
It will be the committee's task to identify a panel of not fewer than five persons whom they feel could fill the position of chancellor at UW-Eau Claire. Following a suitable evaluation, in conjunction with the Special Regents Committee, one of these individuals will be recommended to the Board of Regents for appointment.
James Oberly, professor of history, will serve as chair of the 17-member committee, and Maria DaCosta, associate professor of economics, will serve as vice chair. Members of the committee include Tess Arenas, assistant to the president for multicultural affairs, UW System Administration; Kevin Gatzlaff, student; Margaret Hallatt, associate director, Housing and Residence Life; Dale Johnson, professor, management information systems; Barbara Lozar, professor, psychology; Michaelene Mirr, professor, adult health nursing; Joan Rohr Myers, senior lecturer, communication and journalism; John Noer, president, Northern States Power; Lee Anna Rasar, associate professor; allied health professions; Barbara Rolland, emerita faculty and community member; Ronald Satz, dean, College of Professional Studies; Marilyn Skrivseth, associate professor, kinesiology; Edwin Smith, professor, music and theatre arts; Jackie Torborg, student; and Jim Vance, director, American Ethnic Coordinating Office, Academic and Career Services.
