MAILED: Nov. 10, 1997
EAU CLAIRE -- "Honors at the Opera," an annual event sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Honors Program and the department of music and theater arts, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, in room 102 of Hibbard Hall.
This year's event will feature a screening of the Metropolitan Opera's production of "Pucinni's La Boheme," with such notable singers as Placido Domingo and Samuel Ramey in lead roles.
The program is an outgrowth of the university's honors music appreciation course and was developed by Dr. Michael Lindsay, professor of curriculum and instruction, and Dr. Jerry Young, professor of music and theater arts, to provide students, faculty and community members with the opportunity to view and hear outstanding opera productions.
The event is free and open to the public.
