EAU CLAIRE -- Nominations for the 1998 Leadership Recognition Awards at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire are due Nov. 21.
The annual awards, recognizing outstanding emerging and established student leaders and organizations, will be presented at the Leadership Recognition Awards Ceremony on Feb. 25, 1998.
"UW-Eau Claire is committed to developing tomorrow's leaders," said Paula Stuettgen, student development coordinator. "The recognition program is intended to reinforce the positive contributions made by students to the university and the community, celebrate their accomplishments, and encourage leadership potential."
This year up to five students will be selected to receive $200 awards. Recipients must be in good academic standing with a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.5, and be registered both semesters of the academic year.
Both emerging and established student leaders will be recognized for their dependability, creativity, group interaction skills, contributions to the campus or community, and leadership qualities.
Two student organizations also will be selected for $100 awards for their distinguished service to campus and community, creative programming, and involvement in the university.
All student nominees and organization applicants will be recognized at the campus-wide program. The UW-Eau Claire Foundation and the Alumni Association support the awards program, which is coordinated by the Activities and Programs Office.
For nomination and application forms, contact Paula Stuettgen, (715) 836-4803, or Denise Pedersen, Alumni Relations, (715) 836-3266.
