EAU CLAIRE -- The Honeywell Foundation will offer a $1,000 Honeywell Accounting Scholarship on an annual basis to a University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire student.
To be considered for the scholarship, a student must be an accounting major who will be enrolled full time as a senior at the time the scholarship is used, and must hold a minimum of 3.30 cumulative and major grade point averages.
Honeywell has long been a supporter of UW-Eau Claire, Carole Halberg, director of alumni relations and major gifts, said, noting that the company employs many UW-Eau Claire graduates.
"We are grateful for their support of our recent graduates and for this demonstration of continued support of our students," Halberg said.
Monte S. Johnson, a UW-Eau Claire alumnus and director of mergers and acquisitions at Honeywell, deserves special credit for helping make the scholarship a reality, Halberg said.
"He's an alumnus, a former member of our Alumni Board, and very active in the university," Halberg said of Johnson. "This is a very nice thing he's doing."
