EAU CLAIRE -- Tickets go on sale at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, for a concert by The Verve Pipe on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The RCA recording artists will begin the concert at 8 p.m. in Zorn Arena. "Villains," The Verve Pipe's debut album on the RCA label, has climbed into the top 25 on the Billboard 200 chart. The title track is receiving nationwide rock radio airplay, and the first single from the album, "The Freshmen," has been a staple on the rock and mainstream rock charts since its commercial release last spring. Hailing from East Lansing, Mich., The Verve Pipe recently appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." Reserved seating tickets are $16.50, plus a $1 service fee, at the University Service Center in Davies Center. Tickets may be charged to MasterCard or Visa when ordered by phone.
