EAU CLAIRE -- All young Chippewa Valley musicians are invited to participate in the 17th year of the Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony. Registration and rehearsal will run from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, in room 139 of the Fine Arts Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Rehearsals are slated for Tuesdays from Sept. 16 through Dec. 9 and Feb. 3 through May 13. Ivar Lunde will once again conduct the Youth Symphony. He has been a part of the symphony since its inception. In addition, university student musicians will be hired to work with the Youth Symphony students in small group sessions and with the entire orchestra. Fees for the year will be $70. The first payment of $35 is due Sept. 4, with a completed registration form. New students are invited to sit in for one session at no obligation. The symphony is sponsored by the Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony Association, UW-Eau Claire College of Arts and Sciences Continuing Education, and UW-Extension.
