EAU CLAIRE -- A veteran student services administrator has been named to direct University Centers and Programs, a newly reorganized student support services unit at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Chancellor Larry Schnack appointed Diane Gilbertson to direct the new unit that merges University Centers and Activities, Programs and Recreation, effective July 1. She will report to William Harms, executive director of student support services.
Gilbertson, who joined UW-Eau Claire in 1975, served as associate director of recreation for many years. She was named acting director of recreation in 1994 and director of Activities, Programs and Recreation in 1996. She also directs UW-Eau Claire's National Youth Sports Program, which five times has been recognized as one of the top programs among the 172 administered nationwide for disadvantaged youth by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Gilbertson holds a bachelor's degree from UW-Oshkosh and a master's degree from UW-La Crosse.
