EAU CLAIRE -- The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, April 7. All events are free and open to the public.

MONDAY, APRIL 7:

The flute class will present a recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Center. The group will perform pieces by J. S. Bach, J. Andersen, F. Kriesler, J. Casterede, Genin, J. J. Quantz, W. F. Bach and J. Massenet.

TUESDAY, APRIL 8:

Todd Schendel, a senior music major from Eau Claire, will present a student trombone recital at 5 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Center. Schendel will perform pieces by Arcangelo Corelli, Paul Hindemith, Maurice Ravel, Stjepan Sulek, Dmitri Shostakovich and Henry Fillmore. He will be accompanied by Judy Lies on piano and assisted by Contrapunctus Brass.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9:

The Andante Brass Quintet will present a student combo recital at 5 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Center. The group of senior music majors includes Josh Lehigh, of Duluth, Minn., on trumpet; Stefan Van Voorst, of Eau Claire, on trumpet; Matt Everson, of White Bear Lake, Minn., on horn; Eric Songer, of Wales, on trombone; and Micky Wrobleski, of Eau Claire, on tuba. They will perform pieces by Lew Pollack, Edward Elgar, Percy Grainger, Dimitri Shostakovich, George Frederic Handel and Gioacchino Rossini.

Paul Dankers, a senior music major from Balsam Lake, will present a student counter tenor recital at 8 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Center. Dankers will perform pieces by Antonio Vivaldi, Peter Warlock, Franz Schubert, J. S. Bach, Douglas Grant Stewart and G. F. Handel. He will be accompanied by Tim Lane on flute, Jeffrey Strunk, a senior music therapy major from Spooner, on piano and harpsichord, and the Singing Statesmen.

FRIDAY, APRIL 11:

Wisconsin Arts Education Association all day in the Riverside Theatre of the Fine Arts Center.

SATURDAY, APRIL 12:

Wisconsin Arts Education Association all day in the Riverside Theatre of the Fine Arts Center.

SUNDAY, APRIL 13:

Richard Fletcher, professor of music and theatre arts, on saxophone, and Kristine Fletcher, adjunct associate of music, on bassoon, will present a faculty recital at 2 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Center. They will perform pieces by Marguerite Roesgen-Champion, Fritz Kreisler, Robert Myers, Max Steiner, Dimitri Tiomkin, Nathaniel Shilkert, George Gershwin, Maurice Whitney and John Bivins. They will be accompanied by Barbara Wimunc-Pearson and Michael Cunningham on piano.
