EAU CLAIRE -- The Jazz I Ensemble will present a concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 1, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The group will be conducted by Robert Baca, associate professor of music. The ensemble will perform "Carmello's By The Freeway" by Bob Florence, "Daybreak Express" and "Concerto for Cootie" by Duke Ellington, "Who Knew" and "Spring Season" by Matt Harris, "Syeeda's Song Flute" by John Coltrane, "Well You Needn't" by Miles Davis, "Hoe Down" by Oliver Nelson, "Bye Bye Blackbird" by Dominic Spera, "Samba sin Palabras" and "Loved One" by Antonio Garcia, "Orange Colored Sky" by Milton DeLugg and Willie Stein, and "Cherokee" by Ray Noble. Tickets for the concert are $4.50 for the general public; $3.50 for senior citizens, children under 18 and faculty and staff; or $1.25 with a UW-Eau Claire ID. Tickets are available in the lobby of the Fine Arts Center.
