EAU CLAIRE -- Retired NASA astronaut Dr. Guion Bluford will speak Tuesday, April 29, at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The presentation, titled "Science in Space," will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. in room 100 of Schneider Hall. Bluford's career as an astronaut with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration spans 14 years. He was the payload commander for the 1991 and 1992 NASA missions and was a mission specialist who led astronauts in conducting on-orbit experiments in materials processing, life sciences and fluid physics. The event is free and open to the public. The presentation is sponsored by the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, Office of Multicultural Affairs, the College of Business, and the departments of biology, chemistry, computer science, geography, geology, and physics and astronomy. -30- JB
