EAU CLAIRE - The University Band will present a concert at 8 p.m. Monday, April 28, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The ensemble will be conducted by Stephen Wells. The group consists mostly of non-music majors, enabling students with various other majors to continue performing. The group will perform a mix of all types of music including "Zampa Overture" by L. J. F. Herold with arrangement by V. F. Safranek; "Pentland Hills," a concert march medley of traditional Scottish airs, with arrangement by Capt. J. H. Howe; "Allerseelen" by Richard Strauss with arrangement by Albert O. Davis; "Psalm 46" by John Zdechlik; "The Gallant Seventh" by John Phillip Sousa; "Caccia and Chorale" by Clifton Williams; "On A Hymnsong of Philip Bliss" by David Holsinger; and "The Symphonic Gershwin" with arrangement by Warren Barker. Tickets for the concert are $3.50 for the general public; $2.50 for senior citizens and children under 18; or free for faculty and staff or with a UW-Eau Claire ID. Tickets are available in the lobby of the Fine Arts Center.
